Aussie Kindies Early Learning Frankston is proud to have a familiar face stepping up to Centre Manager on a maternity leave contract. Emily Ellis has proudly progressed her early childhood education career through Affinity Education, spending seven years working her way up to this incredible opportunity!

Affinity Education Area Manager, Eleni Hayden said “We are so proud to see Emily step up and take on this extra responsibility. When a temporary position became available, we were so lucky to be able to look within our own workforce for this role, due to the enormous amount of talent we have here at Affinity.”

"She is well equipped for the role after having experience as Assistant Centre Manager at Aussie Kindies Cranbourne and we are all looking forward to seeing what she will achieve!"

We sat down with Emily to chat with her about how she got to where she is today.

What was your first Early Childhood Educator role?

My first role as an Early Childhood Educator was room leader of 0-1 years. I began working in early childhood education almost 7 years ago now! After working part-time at children's parties and being fascinated with our quickly children grow and develop, I decided to make this a passion a career.

Tell us about your career path, have you worked in different roles?

I have been with Affinity Education Group for the entire duration of my career in early childhood education. I have been a room leader for five years and Assistant Centre Manager for two years at Aussie Kindies  Cranbourne before being offered my current Centre Manager contract at Aussie Kindies Frankston.

Who supported you in your journey?

I did my placement at Aussie Kindies Cranbourne and the Centre Manager, Jenna, gave me ample support to continue my journey. I’ve also had a lot of support from my State Manager Kellie, and Area Manager Eleni, they have both provided great opportunities and have always believed in me to do my best.

What do you love the most about your job?

Having trusting relationships with children. I also love the team I work with; we always have fun and get the job done. Everyone is willing to help each other.

What benefits do you see for your centre in being associated with Affinity Education Group?

We have a great Centre Support Office team that really support us to promote the benefits of our centres and early education. We also have a network of Lifelong Learning Centres in our area who are always willing to give a helping hand and create a connection with the larger community. This network has allowed me to move between centres seamless - and ultimately more opportunities for me.

How have you been supported with professional development and career progression?

Affinity Education has supported me in growing and developing a huge range of skills. I have taken part in professional development programs and tailored courses that are relevant to career progression. From my career with Affinity, I've come so far but it's also reassuring to know that there's so much more growth me for in the future.
