Shining Star at Affinity Education: Phoebe Clark & Jessica Goodwin

Milestones Early Learning Stretton has recently celebrated two of their dedicated educators completing their Diploma's in Early Childhood Education.

Lead Educator, Phoebe Clark and Assistant Centre Manager, Jessica Goodwin were excited to have completed their studies and implement their refreshed learnings into the classroom. Centre Manager, Samantha Hennessy, said she was proud of both Phoebe and Jessica's commitment to the profession and she loved giving her team members opportunities to upskill and further their education.
 

What was your first Early Childhood Education role? 

Phoebe: My first role was as an Assistant Educator in the Kindergarten program, and after four months, I was promoted to Room Leader!

Jessica: I started as a Casual Centre Educator, providing support across all rooms. I worked hard to become an Assistant Educator in the Kindergarten Room, and have recently stepped up as the Assistant Centre Manager.

When did you decide to make early childhood education your career? 

Phoebe: Since High School I’ve wanted to be a Primary school Teacher! I began study at University but couldn’t wait to jump in and start gaining industry experience so I could work and learn at the same time. 

Jessica: I also found my love for Early Childhood Education in High School as I was studying my Certificate III.
 

Who has supported you in your journey so far? 

Phoebe: My manager Samantha has been a huge support, as well as my supervisors at the Affinity Education Industry Graduate program. 

Jessica: I am also very thankful to our Centre Manager, Samantha for her support, as well as our Area Manager, Trudy. They have provided not only professional development, but have also helped me build confidence.

What do you love the most about your job? 

Phoebe: I love being a part of a dedicated team and being able to watch the children at our service evolve into capable young individuals. 

Jessica: I love knowing that I am making a difference in children’s learning journey and helping them develop important life skills.
