Papilio Early Learning Camberwell takes flight

Another success story as Lifelong Learning Centres welcome Camberwell to the Papilio Early Learning family.

On June 14th a beautiful new butterfly was spotted at Papilio Early Learning Camberwell marking the transition for one of our Lifelong Learning Centres from A Step Ahead to our Papilio family.  As part of the re-branding the centre underwent an overhaul both inside and out, with fresh paint, and the creation of the mural displayed above.

Papilio is the Latin term for butterfly, and is symbolic of transformation and growth, representing the belief that every child is beautiful and unique. It is the organisation’s mission to inspire every child to spread their wings through a journey of self-discovery, supporting them to be the best they can be, and laying the foundations of success for a future of lifelong learning.

It’s not just the outside that’s received an overhaul. To bring Papilio Early Learning Camberwell in line with the new brand it now offers a range of incursions and excursions throughout the year that are centered around the children’s interests, nestled alongside the lifelong learning curriculum.

Papilio Early Learning Camberwell Centre Manager Angela Beness says of the new centre: “One of the things I am proud of is the additional incursions and excursions we provide for the children to enhance their learning experience. This is certainly our point of difference and something our families appreciate.”

The centre focuses on creating community connections as part of the Lifelong Learning Healthy Communities Program and has recently started an inter-generational program between their Kindergarten group and a local Aged Care facility. The Kindergarten group go on fortnightly excursions to the Aged Care facility to run a morning program with children and residents.

“The inter-generational program exposes children to diversity and provides them with the opportunity to connect with other members of the community. This helps to foster the children’s social and emotional development which is an important focus of our school readiness program,” says Angela.

“We believe that every child is a competent learner. Our mission is to work alongside families to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that will foster their learning and give them the best start to life”.

The full transition marks the very exciting arrival of a new premier early learning centre for families within the region, and the ability for our staff to be associated with a brand known for excellence in early learning and care.

Welcome to Papilio, Camberwell!
