Free Kindy In QLD For 2024!

Unlocking Free Kindy

Starting January 1, 2024, the Queensland Government is introducing free kindy, and we're thrilled to share this fantastic news! Our kindergarten program at Affinity Education owned eligible centres falls under this initiative, allowing families with a child in kindy to access 15 free kindy hours. This initiative aims to provide greater accessibility to quality early childhood education, ensuring that every kindergarten family can enjoy the benefits of free kindy.

Navigating the Childcare Subsidy

All kindergarten-aged children attending an Affinity Education owned centre can benefit from 15 hours of free kindy. This initiative extends beyond those receiving the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) – whether or not you qualify for CCS, you'll still have access to free kindy. The Queensland Government will provide more details about the mechanics of free kindy between now and December. This opportunity is open to all children enrolled in a Queensland Affinity Education owned kindergarten from January 1, 2024, regardless of CCS eligibility.

Is my child eligible?

Eligible children include those aged at least 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before they attend Prep.

Ensuring your child is school ready

It is widely known that the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical for learning, growth and brain development.

Starting school is an exciting time in a child’s lifelong learning journey. In this year before school, your child will experience some exciting challenges and some serious fun. In order to prepare your child for a smooth transition to school and to develop positive dispositions to learning, our educators will create a unique program to nurture, challenge and inspire.

Benefits of Our Lifelong Learning Curriculum

Our Lifelong Learning: School Readiness program stimulates young minds, builds confidence, resilience and positive self-image, and supports children’s transition to school, preparing them for a positive start. It acknowledges that all children are capable of achieving success and will help your child reach their potential.

Our School Readiness Program focuses on four key intentions – emotional confidence, social connectivity, foundational learning and physical health and wellbeing while considering your child’s natural interests, strengths and needs.
