Reconciliation Action Plan

At Affinity Education, we believe reconciliation is more than a promise - it’s an ongoing commitment to unity, respect and understanding.

We are proud to share our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. This RAP lays the foundation for our journey toward building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

Our RAP recognises the unique role we play in shaping a more inclusive future - one where every child, family, and team member feels respected, connected, and heard.

A Message from Our CEO

“Reconciliation, to us, means reflection on actions, thoughts, behaviours, and practices. It involves acknowledging past actions and working in solidarity towards healing.” - Tim Hickey, CEO, Affinity Education Group

Through our RAP, we are investing in meaningful, long-term strategies to create change - including cultural responsiveness training, consultation with Elders and community leaders, and incorporating First Nations perspectives into our learning environments and workplace culture.

What’s in Our RAP

Our RAP sets out clear actions and goals across six core focus areas:

  • Cultural Responsiveness Training for all staff
  • Collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Incorporating First Nations Perspectives across our curriculum, policies and environments
  • Promoting Employment Opportunities within our workforce
  • Supporting First Nations Businesses through procurement practices
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure accountability and impact

Our Partnerships

We’re proud to partner with Wandana Aboriginal Education to deliver a purpose-built First Nations cultural education program for children, teachers, and educators across our network. We also collaborate with First Nations artists including Wayde Clarke and Gabby Collins, whose artworks beautifully reflect our journey and values.
