The Lifelong Learning Curriculum
The Lifelong Learning Curriculum is Affinity Education's own approach to early childhood education, developed in-house, grounded in research, and designed specifically for children from birth to school age.
It provides a consistent, high-quality framework for learning across all our centres, delivered by qualified educators and early childhood teachers who are trained and supported to bring it to life every day.
The curriculum supports each child's growth across four key areas: emotional confidence, social connection, physical health and wellbeing, and foundational learning skills.
Built on research, designed for real classrooms
Our curriculum draws on a carefully selected body of educational research and practice, chosen because the evidence supports it, not because it's fashionable.
- Attachment Theory and Relationship Practices - fostering secure, trusting relationships between educators and children, particularly in the early years
- The Abecedarian Approach - a structured, language-rich approach to learning in the toddler years, with strong evidence for long-term outcomes
- Project-Based Learning - giving preschool-aged children the opportunity to explore big ideas through investigation, collaboration and discovery
- Principles from Montessori and Reggio Emilia - keeping children at the centre of their own learning and honouring their curiosity
Together, these approaches give educators a rich, flexible toolkit for delivering learning that is intentional and meaningful at every stage.
Aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework
The Lifelong Learning Curriculum is fully aligned to Belonging, Being & Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF v2.0), Australia's national framework for early childhood education.
Rather than simply meeting the framework's requirements, our curriculum uses the EYLF as a foundation and builds on it, with age-specific programs, enrichment activities, and educator resources that translate the framework's outcomes into everyday practice.
Learning programs by age
Babies
Healthy Beginnings
Based on Attachment Theory and Relationship Practices, our baby program is built around the relationship between each child and their educator. Educators respond sensitively to individual cues, building the trust and security that underpins all future learning.
Toddlers
Early Experiences
Guided by the Abecedarian Approach, this toddler program uses conversational reading, enriched caregiving and learning games to build language, independence and social confidence. Every interaction is treated as a learning opportunity.
Kindergarten / Preschool
School Readiness
Our preschool and kindergarten program uses Project-Based Learning to engage children in meaningful investigation and collaboration. Qualified early childhood teachers guide literacy, numeracy, STEM and social-emotional development through child-led projects designed to prepare children for the transition to school.

Supporting our educators to deliver it well
A curriculum is only as strong as the people delivering it. Through the Affinity Learning Academy, all educators and early childhood teachers receive the training, resources and ongoing support they need to implement the Lifelong Learning Curriculum with confidence.
This includes access to planning templates and learning guides, curriculum coaching, leadership mentoring, and professional development pathways that grow with each educator's career.
"This curriculum gives me the tools to do what I love - connect with children and deliver intentional teaching, without compromising on creativity."
