Our recruitment process

At Affinity Education, who we hire matters. Our recruitment process is thorough by design, because the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care depends on the quality and integrity of every person we bring into our team.

All candidates go through a rigorous screening process that includes:

Phone screening and in-person interviews conducted by experienced recruitment staff, with assessment of employment history, role consistency and any unexplained gaps

  • Questionnaires and knowledge assessments on child safety guidelines and policies, with minimum pass rates required to progress
  • Working with Children Check, police clearance and qualification verifications
  • Reference checks with previous employers

We also look closely at potential indicators of concern, including frequent moves between childcare employers, gaps in employment history, questionable references and inappropriate social media activity.

Every Affinity employee completes mandatory refresher training on child safety policies, practices and legal obligations, regardless of role or seniority.
