Cash Before Christmas: Early ECEC Pay Rise For Affinity Employees

Affinity Education Group has confirmed that all employees eligible for the new ECEC payment are now receiving it effective 2nd December 2024.

The first payments to employees were made on 11th December and included the 10% increase above award wages.

CEO Tim Hickey said the decision to put ‘cash in our people’s hands before Christmas’ was one quickly approved by all executives and the board in recognition of the Federal Government’s commitment to funding for employees in the sector.

"We didn’t want our people who work so hard every day to wait a single day longer than necessary so we’re happy to fund the pay rise while we await the grant monies,” Mr Hickey said.

“It’s one way to say a big thank you and show our support to our people as quickly as possible.”

Chief People Officer Rolanda Mitchell said the 10% wage increase for early childhood educators marks a significant milestone in recognising the incredible impact our educators have as they nurture, care for and develop a lifelong love of learning in thousands of children around Australia.

“The important work our people do cannot be underestimated and we’re thrilled to pass this pay rise on early in recognition of how highly we value our employees,” Ms Mitchell said.
