For Milestones Early Learning Townsville Area Manager Adriana Eve, caring for the next generation of children has always been important to her. 
Having worked in the Early Childhood sector for over 15 years, Adriana has been employed at Milestones Early Learning in Gulliver for nine years and during this time has advanced from Lead Educator through to Area Manager, something that she’s extremely proud of.
“Being part of the Gulliver team and helping to build the centre into the positive community it is today has been incredibly rewarding. The centre has truly become my pride and joy,” said Adriana.
As part of her role as Area Manager, Adriana oversees four Milestones Early Learning centres in the area and works with four centre managers and assistant centre managers as well as educators to ensure staff have access to education and support, while children receive the highest quality and care.
“It’s such a pleasure to work with all of our Educators and Centre Managers to offer support, guidance and ensure they have the tools they need to succeed in delivering quality and care for our children and families.”
The change from Lead Educator to Area Manager saw Adriana build new skills in leadership, business and operational skills with support and training from Affinity Education Group.
“The fantastic thing about early childhood care is that there is so much room for growth and a diverse range of work within the sector. I get to be hands on with the kids, which I still love, and as I've moved into my new role, I also get to work with other educators guiding them and working on business operations.”
As a passionate educator, Adriana strives to constantly improve the experience for children and families by implementing Affinity programs and services that benefit them and help build community spirit.
One of the ways Adriana has given back to her local community is through implementing donation programs where families are encouraged to donate items including food and toiletries to benefit local community groups in need. Gulliver Milestones Early Learning Centre also works closely with the Currajong State School to assist with programs and community services.
Over the years Adriana has seen a lot of growth and change at Gulliver Milestones Early Learning Centre and is thrilled to see first-hand the positive changes these investments have made to the way her team deliver quality and care.
