Lifelong Learning Curriculum
Australia’s most advanced early childhood education program, from birth to school.
The Lifelong Learning Curriculum, developed by Affinity Education, is a research-based framework that guides children through a meaningful learning journey - from their first day in care to their confident transition to school.
Grounded in theory but shaped for real-life classrooms, our curriculum supports each child’s growth across four key areas: emotional confidence, social connection, physical health, and foundational learning.
Delivered by qualified educators and early childhood teachers in more than 250 centres nationwide, it provides a consistent, inspiring approach to early education for families and educators alike.

A Curriculum Backed by Research and Practice
Our curriculum brings together the best elements of traditional educational philosophies and modern early childhood development research:
-
Attachment Theory and the Relationship Practices, to foster strong educator–child relationships
-
The Abecedarian Approach, supporting language development in the toddler years
-
Project-Based Learning, helping preschoolers explore, question, and discover
-
Influences from Montessori and Reggio Emilia, ensuring children remain at the centre of their learning
This mix of classic and contemporary methods helps educators deliver meaningful learning experiences tailored to every stage of early childhood.
Aligned with Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework
The Lifelong Learning Curriculum is fully aligned with Belonging, Being & Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, supporting children to:
-
Develop a strong sense of identity
-
Feel connected to and contribute to their world
-
Build physical and emotional wellbeing
-
Become confident and involved learners
-
Communicate effectively and creatively
We tailor these outcomes across three age-based programs, each with its own focus and learning approach.
Learning Programs by Age

Healthy Beginnings (0–1 years)
Based on Attachment Theory and the Relationship Practices, our baby program supports secure, loving relationships. Educators respond sensitively to each child’s cues, helping them feel safe and confident to explore.

Early Experiences (1–3 years)
Guided by the Abecedarian Approach, this program uses conversational reading, enriched caregiving, and learning games to support language and social development. It’s all about helping toddlers express themselves and build independence.

School Readiness (3–5 years)
Our preschool and kindergarten program uses Project-Based Learning to engage children in big ideas, investigations and collaboration. Qualified early childhood teachers guide literacy, numeracy, STEM and social-emotional learning through child-led projects.
